No primeiro discurso da primeira sessão da 193ª Conferência Geral Semestral, Élder David A. Bednar, do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos, expressou seu amor, admiração e gratidão pelos membros de A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias.

Presidente Eyring também mencionou o recente falecimento da irmã Patricia Terry Holland, esposa de Élder Holland. “Ela viveu uma vida de bondade. Ela serviu em várias funções e apoiou o marido em suas muitas designações. Expressamos nossas sinceras condolências a Élder Holland e à sua família.”
No discurso final da sessão, Presidente Dallin H. Oaks, primeiro conselheiro na Primeira Presidência, falou sobre o plano amoroso de Deus para Seus filhos. “Temos um Pai Celestial amoroso que fará com que recebamos todas as bênçãos e todas as vantagens que nossos próprios desejos e escolhas permitirem”, ensinou ele.
Além de Élder Bednar, um de seus companheiros Apóstolos, Élder D. Todd Christofferson, compartilhou seus comentários. A irmã Amy A. Wright, da presidência geral da Primária; Élder Carlos A. Godoy, da Presidência dos Setenta; Élder Robert M. Daines, que foi apoiado em abril como novo Setenta Autoridade Geral; e Élder Ian S. Ardern, Setenta Autoridade Geral; também discursaram.

A oração de abertura foi proferida por Élder Alvin F. Meredith III, e a oração de encerramento, pelo mais novo membro da presidência geral dos Rapazes, o irmão Michael T. Nelson.
O Coro do Tabernáculo na Praça do Templo, com Mack Wilberg e Ryan Murphy como regentes, cantou “Que firme alicerce”, “O amor do Salvador”, “Fé a cada passo” e “We Listen to a Prophet’s Voice” (Nós ouvimos a voz de um profeta), acompanhado pelos organistas Andrew Unsworth e Richard Elliott.
