Na última mensagem da conferência geral no sábado, 5 de outubro, Élder David A. Bednar recorreu a lições do Livro de Mórmon para alertar e ensinar os santos dos últimos dias sobre como evitarem o pecado do orgulho.
“Sugiro que se vocês ou eu acreditamos que somos suficientemente fortes e firmes para evitarmos a arrogância do orgulho, então talvez já estejamos sofrendo dessa doença espiritual e mortal”, disse Élder Bednar, membro do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos.
“Testifico que, ao andarmos na mansidão do espírito do Senhor, evitaremos e venceremos o orgulho e teremos paz Nele.”
Élder Bednar foi o orador final na sessão da noite de sábado da conferência geral de outubro de 2024 de A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias.

Rasband, membro do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos. Presidente Russell M. Nelson, Presidente da Igreja, e Presidente Jeffrey R. Holland, Presidente em Exercício do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos, assistiram à sessão de casa.
