Ao encerrar a sessão da manhã de sábado da conferência geral de outubro de 2024, Presidente Dallin H. Oaks, primeiro conselheiro na Primeira Presidência, falou sobre sermos pacificadores.
“Como seguidores de Cristo, ensinamos e testificamos de Jesus Cristo, nosso modelo perfeito”, disse Presidente Oaks. “Então, que possamos segui-Lo, renunciando à contenda. À medida que buscamos nossas políticas preferidas em ações públicas, que possamos nos qualificar para Suas bênçãos usando o linguajar e a maneira dos pacificadores.”
Presidente Henry B. Eyring, segundo conselheiro na Primeira Presidência, dirigiu a sessão e liderou o apoio às autoridades gerais e a outros líderes da Igreja.

A sessão também contou com discursos de dois membros do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos, da presidente geral das Moças e de três Setentas Autoridades Gerais.
Élder Neil L. Andersen, do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos, falou sobre esperança. “A esperança é um dom vivo, um dom que cresce à medida que aumentamos nossa fé em Jesus Cristo.”
Élder Dale G. Renlund, do Quórum dos Doze Apóstolos, explorou a combinação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo e Sua Igreja. “Assim como dinamite sem nitroglicerina não tem nada de notável, a Igreja do Salvador é especial somente se for edificada em Seu evangelho.”
Presidente Emily Belle Freeman, presidente geral das Moças, falou sobre as ordenanças do sacerdócio e as promessas dos convênios. “Será que percebemos que é a combinação das ordenanças do sacerdócio com o cumprimento das promessas dos convênios que nos permite recorrer ao poder de Deus?”
Élder Gregorio E. Casillas, Setenta Autoridade Geral, destacou sobre ministrar como Cristo. “Esforcemo-nos para sermos bons cristãos em todos os momentos.”
Élder David P. Homer, Setenta Autoridade Geral, ensinou sobre confiar no Senhor. “Quando nos concentramos no Salvador, nossa fé pode começar a superar nossas preocupações.”
A música foi apresentada pelo Coro do Tabernáculo na Praça do Templo, com a direção de Mack Wilberg e Ryan Murphy, acompanhados pelos organistas Richard Elliott e Brian Mathias.
As orações foram oferecidas por Élder J. Kimo Esplin e Élder Isaac K. Morrison, Setentas Autoridades Gerais.
